Robert A, Wanda, Susan, and David lived in the "First House".  It was a prefabricated home. The basement and first floor sub flooring was built on site, then an 18 wheeler came in at 8 am and when the workmen left at 5 pm there was a 2 storied house, roofed, all interior studs, windows, electrical wiring, plumbing and roof were in place.  It then took six months to finish the house off. The basement construction was interesting: a bull dozer started at one end of the block and dug a trench the length of the block, then they built the cinder block walls and then filled in the dirt between the houses, resulting in completely underground basements. Susan was a new child when she discovered she could just go outside by herself.  Before, when we lived in upstairs apartments someone always had to take her out.
